We Demand A Referendum on the EU

Simon Kirby asks Des Turner MP about the EU Referendum (in the Argus)

Gordon Brown has refused to grant a referendum on the EU treaty, arguing that ratification is a matter for Parliament alone.

If I take the Prime Minister at his word, can I ask on behalf of Brighton Kemptown residents , two questions of our current MP, Des Turner?

Does Des intend to remain true to the Labour election manifesto pledge to hold a referendum on the EU Constitution — which the treaty is in all but name?

Will he also confirm that he will support any amendment tabled during the parliamentary debate that would trigger a referendum?
